School-To-Career Transition Programs

Many area high schools and special needs schools in Baltimore County offer school-to-career transition programs that give local employers the opportunity to mentor a student intern.

The program parameters vary by school. Some programs offer students education credits in lieu of monetary compensation. Others send a job coach with the student for the first few days of the job. Hours that students are available also vary by school. All students are monitored by the school and employers are expected to report any problems.

The possibilities where students can be placed is endless. Students have been placed anywhere from office environments, mechanic shops, banks, architectural firms to light manufacturing environments.

If you are an employer needing part-time help, consider hiring an intern! Contact any of the schools below for more information on their Cooperative Education Program.
