Licensing

The state of Maryland requires that a caregiver who is not a relative and who is paid by you to care for your child outside of your home on a regular basis for 20 or more hours per month, the caregiver must be licensed in accordance with Maryland child care regulations. In Maryland, it is illegal for a non-relative or agency to provide paid out-of-home child care for 20 or more hours per month on a regular basis without proper licensure. A person or agency that provides illegal child care is subject to civil and criminal penalties under State law.

GoToMyTown is not responsible for ensuring the daycare centers or family daycare providers listed on this site are licensed.

For more information on child care requirements in the state of Maryland, visit the Child Care Admininstration.

In Baltimore County call (410) 321-2216 to confirm that a daycare is licensed and has no violations on record.
