The Lewis A. Rothschild Mental Health Memorial
Drop-in Centeris a free consumer-run drop-in center operating Fridays
5:30-10:00 p.m. and Saturdays: 5:00-10:00 p.m. to welcome
all people struggling with psychological challenges at 37 Walker
Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21208. If you need medicine and have no
insurance, the Drop-in Center might be able to help you
qualify for the Indigent Medicine program. The Center
also provides information on the Qualifying Medicare Beneficiary
Program (QMB) and Specified Low-income Medicare Beneficiary Program
(SLIMB).
The Lewis A. Rothschild Mental Health Memorial
Drop-in Center was founded in 1996, as a grassroots organization
of consumers of mental health services in service to fellow
consumers. The Center provides advocacy and information in a
home-like atmosphere.
As the drop-in center has grown, so have its
requests for advocacy, which the center provides in a home-like
atmosphere.
In addition to cash donations to help defray the
cost of food and other items provided to its consumers, The Lewis
A. Rothschild Mental Health Memorial Drop-in Center, a
non-profit 501(c)3 operation, seeks donations of running vehicles, computers with Pentium or similar chips, working computer mice,
monitors, printers, FAX machines, and software with manuals for
administrative functions and for the use of its consumers who
frequent its Center. Donating your computer prevents
toxic obsolete personal computers from being stored expensively or
dumped in landfills. We also need a volunteer mini-van
driver to pick up and drop off its consumers on Saturday
evenings and/or to take them to various malls one evening a week, We
can accept selected yard sale/flee market leftovers. PLEASE
